Zopheridae sp. (family) (Zopherid beetle)

Dull-coloured and rough-textured beetles, usually brown or black and with the body parallel-sided. Most species are small (<10mm), but the 'Ironclad beetle', Zopherosis georgii, is an exception at 25-35mm.

Zopherids are usually associated with wood or fungi; larvae may be found under bark or in rotten wood and adults on the surfaces of wood or fungal fruiting bodies.
