Notonomus sp. (genus) (Carab beetle)

Nocturnal predatory beetles. The several species in our region are confined to the wetter mountainous areas. During the day they shelter under timber and leaf litter on the ground. Some species have a metallic green sheen on the upper surface, or on the sides of the pronotum.
