Arcyria cinerea

A gregarious common species usually on decaying wood.


Plasmodium:- pale yellow almost inconspicuous.


Sporangia:- ovate, pale grey to beige often united by their merged stalks into clusters of 20 or more individuals;

Peridium:- fugacious, nearly colourless calyculus with slightly stippled inner surface.


Capillitium:- firmly attached to the calyculus (cup)


Spores:- are pale grey on mass colourless by transmitted light with scattered warts.
