Symphyta psaropis (A Lappet or Snout moth)

The adults are pale brown or grey, with a dark dot near the middle of each forewing. The wing margins are chequered. The male moth has a wingspan of about 3 cms. The female moth has a wingspan of about 4 cms.

 The species is found over much of mainland Australia, including:
 Northern Territory,  Queensland,  New South Wales,  Victoria,  South Australia,and  Western Australia.
