Hypena gonospilalis (A Noctuoid moth (Hypeninae)

The adult moth has grey or brown patterned forewings each with an interior irregular dark area. The hindwings are plain brown. The wingspan is about 2 cms. The species is found across the south Pacific, and also in Australia in Queensland and New South Wales.
