Mollisia sp.

The fruit bodies appear on dead wood, are circular and saucer-like, up to about 3mm in diameter, some shade of grey above and with a brown to blackish underside (at least away from the margin). The margin may be a little raised in young fruit bodies but with a tendency to flatten out with age. Usually the fruit bodies appear in large colonies and, when growing densely packed, may become distorted from mutual pressure.
