Paropsis (paropsine) genus-group (Unidentified 'paropsine' leaf beetle)

This informal group includes the genera Dicranosterna, Faex, Paropsides, Paropsis, Paropsisterna, Peltoschema and Trachymela. They are compact beetles with an evenly round or oval perimeter shape, a domed top surface and a flat underside with an extended 'skirt', allowing them to protect their vulnerable mouthparts, antennae and legs as they cling tightly to a smooth surface such as bark or a leaf.
