Adinolepis mathesonae (Reticulated beetle)

Family Cupedidae

A small, elongate and heavily sculptured beetle covered in scales producing a mottled appearance. The elytra carry ridges separated by close rows of regular, deep pits. Ther suture (the line where the elytra join) is dark for its full length.

Distocupes varians is superficially similar, but is broader and flatter, with notable lateral flanges on the prothorax and on the head behind the eyes. The suture is not uniformly dark.
