A scrambling species found near cliffs in open forest or rainforest margins. Differs from G, dicarpa in not having the sori in pouches (recurved leaf segments) and from microphylla in having the branches hairless or nearly so and the lower leaf surface glaucous (whitish, waxy), not green.
