Cap (Pileus): 10 - 25 mm, conical to convex, bell shaped, becoming broadly convex with age. Dark brown when fresh, becoming pinkish brown with rust brown centre, darker margins. Surface smooth, becomes shiny and or slightly wrinkled in dry weather.

Gills (Lamellae): Adnate (gills (lamellae) attached squarely to stem (stipe), brownish, crowded, mottled with whitish margin.

Stem (Stipe): 30 - 70 mm x 2 - 5 mm, pale brown, darker at base with age, slender, fragile. Finely pruinose at apex in young, smooth throughout. Powdered with fine white particles, dry.

Flesh: Thin. Whitish or pale brown.

Spore Print: dark brown/reddish brown.

Microscopic Details: Spores almond shaped, yellowish-brown in water, thick walled, strongly roughened with wart like projections. Germ pore large, central, prominent.

Habitat: Short grass, lawns, pastures. Found from late spring to early autumn.
